Sayler Dogs Foundation was founded in
the Fall of 2003 as a result of a personal experience with my beloved
companion, Sayler. It came about because of my love, devotion and
determination to see this canine have the opportunity to enjoy some form
of quality in her life and my unconditional love despite serious
orthopedic problems. It is now my goal and purpose of this Foundation
that through veterinary rehabilitation, other pets, like Sayler, will
have an opportunity to enjoy that life, love and freedom.
In this long
journey, I have learned many things from regularly changing dressings
and splints, performing range of motion exercises as well as massage
therapy but, most of all, I was filled with the belief that I, through
perseverance, could actually make a difference for Sayler and she could
have the life that she deserved. Through this committed effort to help
her, I also encountered the financial burdens, which comes along with
any animal with genetic, surgery or trauma problems.
It is therefore
our goal that through donations and/or contributions the Sayler Dogs
Foundation can assists pet owners of all breeds, who meet the necessary
criteria and application process for veterinary rehabilitation funding
so that they too, can help the pets they love and cherish.
The long-term
goal of the Sayler Dogs Foundation is to establish a scholarship fund
that would financially assist individuals who would like to continue
their education in the field of veterinary medicine and specialize in
veterinary rehabilitation
It is my belief that our pets and animals teach us
some of the most important lessons and values of life such as
unconditional love, compassion, loyalty, patience, understanding and
respect just to name a few. Sometimes there is one that stands out above
the rest and leaves a footprint in your heart, Sayler left one in mine.
